There's been some talk of this list and it's accuracies, but I'm pleased to see Randy in the top 50 of all time. Even though we'd all place him in #1, or for sure in the top five!

What do you guys think of the list?

I think this list keeps changing based on who they think their subscribers want to see.
Nice to see Randy's name anywhere on a list, but lists are kind of ridiculous anyway. I know there's not a lot of love for Rolling Stone magazine here and I'm not a fan either. Rolling Stone is a fashion magazine that reeks of expensive cologne samples and whatever happens to be trendy at the time of publication. They have absolutely no credibility musically.
Exhibit A: Johhny Ramone ranks higher than Randy
Exhibit B: Kurt Cobain ranks higher than Joe Perry
Exhibit C: Michael Schenker is not on the list at all

I agree with JTDiamondback!

I glanced through it and found Randy and 36 and took it with a grain of salt. Tony Iommi was before Randy - simple music proficiency would put many before Tony but I guess its all about impact and Tony was really (my opinon) the first "metal guitarist" Jimmy P and Jeff B and Eric C were all better but in my thoughts are more BLUES based and less "metal"

have a great day all!! XL)

I think rollingstone need to go to bed for good. Any time I see a "greatest list," by them, I keep going.

Yeah... these are the same people that put Kurt Cobain as one of the top ten guitarists of all time. *LOL*LOL* *LOL*LOL* *LOL*LOL* *LOL*LOL* *LOL*LOL*

It's a popularity thing.
