after studying the guts of a 1959RR it seems to be very very close to a reglar 1959 ( not the HW) The only differences I can see is no .68 cap on v2 no effects loop and the few related components,There is also a extra brown wire going to r10 on the board and soldered to the resistor there. Everything else on the board is IDENTICAL. Now there might be a res I missed but Im pretty sure I didnt. The only other differences would be how the input jacks are wired up! I have a 1959 RI board taken from a new 1959(It was replaced with a PTP) My friend also changed the trannies so I have a 1959 RI board and the 2 trannies and choke. Im going to buy all the oterh parts I need and "borrow" my buddys 1959RR and build my own!! I just need to see how the input jacks are wired up but it should be a prett easy build!! I will let you all know how it turns out!! ANy questions just ask. I also have a gut shot of the 1959RR if anyones interested!!

How do I contact Danny Thomas?

It's not about the RR signature Marshalls but Marshalls made for Thin Lizzy as I'm the owner of one of them.

That doesnt really narrow it down though, so many guitar players came through the Thin Lizzy door. Who did they make it for? Gorham? Sykes? White? Robertson?Moore?

Good question.

The day after I bought it in London UK in 2000 I went back to the shop to ask when they were going to ship it to Denmark. The Thin Lizzy one? Uhm yeah. I did not know about them at all but I was told that a roadie had brought it in and was used backstage.

It's a 1978 50 watt combo with 4 inputs, 2 channels and factory mastervolume + added effects loop in 2 of the inputs.

Research says Scott used 5 combo's like these at some point. There is a few in the Sydney '78 footage live and Rainbow intro footage backstage. It dates 20/11 on the amp tag inside. I'm now in contact with Danny and he has contact with Scott.

The amp has great tone. I can nail many of Thin Lizzy's recorded tones like Thunder and Lightning and so on with it. Sounds better than any new Marshalls.
