Hey Everyone, the movie traler is on youtube again. I'm surprized no one has posted it on here already. Whats up with it? Is Pter M. aware of its release?

Cheers

he's aware, but he doesn't care about the trailer any more because he's gotten everything on it cleared and ok'd. so he's stopped caring about the trailer. (besides, what COULD he do even if he didn't want it on there? people could still get around him and post it anywhere if they wanted)

It's not finished, in fact, last we heard was that there was only 35 minutes actually completed. as much as i would want to enjoy this documentary though, i'm really beginning to think it's not going to be worth it. i mean, no Osbournes (as far as we know at least), no Bob Daisley, and i believe a few other KEY people are being left out...

and apparently Peter interviewed people who didn't even know Randy (for me, i have NO idea why) i think names were like Chelsea Constable and Micheal Angelo Batio (who are both great guitarists), and others. but why put people who didn't even know Randy in there?? doesn't make any sense to me, besides just to have some "star power" saying "Randy was an amazing guy, i was SO inspired by his songs"

while it's nice to have people who are famous say nice things about Randy (even with people who aren't famous, it's still nice) just doesn't make much sense to put their interviews in a doc about Randy. we want to LEARN about Randy, not hear why someone likes Randy, or in MAB's case, show off his tribute to Randy. (but that's just my opinion though..) i would want to hear people talk about what Randy was like, share some interesting stories or something, and just reminisce about their old friend/colleague.

well.. sorry for my long rant there..

Judging it now and making assumptions about who, what and how makes no sense to me. I will wait until it actually comes out before I decide.

From what I know about Peter M. is that he is a professional and is also a fan of Randy himself.

I put my faith in those things that this is going to be pretty cool.

And, even if it shows everything that we know about Randy already and nothing "new", I will simply love the fact that it will expose Randy to a new generation, allowing the legacy to go on even longer.

Maybe this is because I grew up in the 80s without the internet and boards like this. I would get excited if Guitar World had a blurb about Randy. So this is going to be a film that I am going to savor, even if it isn't the most amazing thing ever.

not to mention that Peter knew Randy and took lessons off of him. I think also the final decisions have to be made by owner of Dakota how and when they want to move on the project. So Peter's hands may be tied and I think he unfortunately gets the blame and slag since it's his project. There is a lot of talk of how much the O's are involved or not. With Sharon, she wants full control of everything. She doesn't get that, she doesn't want to corporate. The rift between Kelly against Peter seems to have made members of family not too happy and favor Kelly. So without them, the backing of the project is in question I would say. Just like the official book that was going to come out, it wasn't favored in the direction it was going to it was dropped.

Am I alone in thinking the Rhoads family would like /prefer us to let RR rest in peace and stop wanting more and more from Randy and his family :?: Now they aren't going to the gravesite on the 19th time to take a hint maybe?

I'm just praying this thing doesn't get shut down for anything stupid, We've all waited a few years since it started and I think we can wait a little longer for the finishing touches and final edits to be made. I just hope it comes soon. Just my 2 cents

IMO, yes and no.. Dee wants his legacy to be remembered a certain way. That's why things that have been done have been chosen carefully. College scholarships, guitar displays, no marketing of anything not completed such as any extra audio or possible video for whatever exists. Basically not a Hendrix circus has been quoted by her. I heard her say that personally. We will see what holds the future, I think the recent amp and relic concord is you can say the new guard.

I think too much is invested in the film already for it to stop. In my opinion what I can see it was put on the back burner because of the lack of funds and backing. Let's just keep our fingers crossed for something to happen soon.

The negativity and bitching does not help matters. Peter doesn't even check the Randy board and could care less anymore because of these things.

simply because Peter no longer posts here, does not mean he doesn't VISIT here and see what's up.

TA is absolutely right..peter does not participate on the boards because of all the negativity surrounding him and the film...the more people criticize him and the films delays, the less we are going to hear from him..lets just wait like we have been and see what comes out.. *r*
