No thats not The original but as close as you will ever get..after Randy passed on the Mike Shannon built 7 guitars this is one of them 1982 #5

If that was Randy's guitar i would have passed out lol but the person it belongs to was so kind to let me hold and play it and it was awsome.

Not Zak's

dang, thought i had cracked the case  .....Sherlock im not...all kidding aside, very impressive thread here.

Randy's students would tape the lessons; many of the lessons will be unveiled on the film. Steve is sending me a CD sometime this week.

unheard lessons? Can't wait to hear them when you get the CD! Thanks dogfall! 8) *yay*

Wow!! That'll be amazing !!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Thanks too for sharing those photos, they're great!

Des and I would have loved to go but didn't have the finances. I also broke two toes so it would have been very difficult, and it would have meant us missing Mother's Day and my mom's 60th birthday.

I really hope we can make it one year, maybe next year.

Thanks again for the pics and for letting us know about the CD :D

I post here because I'm a fan.. I really have a problem with some of the attitude on this board "sometimes". Its like a big competition on who knows what.. its BS! If you dont like the way I post then don't read it :P and go hate on another thread.

I have a problem with people who like to argue facts with people that were there. Anyway I don't attack people here please give me the same respect.

The pictures I cant post from the trip have nothing to do with Randy and would invade anothers privacy.

I enjoy being involved in this community in a most positive way only.

Hey dogfall....I'm sure that all of us here truly appreciate your pics and your stories of the day. Especially those of us that couldn't attend....it makes us feel closer to being a part of that special day. I,for one,am grateful to you,and to all the others that were kind enough to share their experience. You,and all the others, didn't have to do that, but you all did...and I thank all of you for it. There's an old saying that goes,"Don't look a gifthorse in the mouth"....not everyone understands that. Thanks again bro! Really appreciate it! 8)

I'm glad you and some of the others like the photos.

I left LA right after the memorial and caught a flight back to Tennessee @11:15 Arrived in Chicago around 8:00am then Charlotte NC. 9:30am then drove 3 hours back to TN.

The first thing I did when I got home was look at this board and some folks were asking for pics. I stayed awake another couple of hours resizing pictures from camera so i could post them here for those who were asking. I finally went to sleep 24 hours later.....

I think I went out of my way , but its really no big deal.

Dude...you don't have to explain yourself,or what you did to anyone. All that "dangling carrot" talk is nonsense, and really means nothing. Like I'd said...I'm sure that your posting your pics and telling your stories is appreciated by a great number of people here. And those that don't appreciate it,well....their loss. Again....great job dogfall! :D

ok, im on the case...Steve here has a nightime visit to Musonia..then goes to an "undisclosed location" then, wearing the same clothes as the Musonia visit, is spotted holding the best damn replica of Randy Rhoads original White Jackson ive ever seen...hmmm..same hand lettered logo...faded brass knobs....plot thickens..
This looks like peters amp room and that must be the guitar he paid about $50,000 for. He has like 30 marshall's. He was telling me about it when we were talking about my white marshall's.

Post subject:  No need to speculate

I would like to address a few of the comments that were directed at Steve (Dogfall) with respect to his "dangling the carrots" and not revealing the source of some of the images in his photos. As a part of his trip to San Bernardino, Steve and Chelsea visited Musonia. In addition, they visited my studio. I have a fairly sizable collection of guitars, most of which can be viewed on my myspace page. To the best of my knowledge, there were seven Mike Shannon built Rhoads LTD guitars. The guitar that you see in the photo is serial number 005. Mike Shannon's initials are carved into the wood behind the tremolo springs and then painted over. I purchased it recently and paid a fairly hefty amount since it was never played and is in gem mint condition. It came with the original case and all of the paperwork. As for the white Les Paul custom in the photos, also one of my guitars. When I was taking lessons from Randy from mid 77 through late 79 I tried to find a guitar that matched his in sound and feel. I got pretty close. At the time I think I paid 600 dollars for the one you see in the photo.
As for the collection of Marshall amps, I own 30 mostly unmodified heads ranging in age from 1965-1979 with one blue head built in 1983. I also have roughly 40 cabinets all with their original celestion speakers.
I began building this collection in 1974.
All of my guitars an amps are kept in an temperature controlled storage facility far away from my home.
I hope this answers all of the questions as to the origin of the guitars and amps in Steve's photos.
Thank you,
Peter M. Margolis

Lori is a very sweet person, and I'm glad I was also able to meet her at previous memorials. When you get to meet Randy's friends and family personally, you really understand better what type of person he was as well 8)

Actully, there were 5 counting Peter Margolis I Stand corrected! sorry I wish I could have met them. Yes Lori is a very nice person we all talked alot the 18th and 19th it was great!
Steve

I value everything you share and hope that whatever you can't share was an amazing time in your life. All that matters are the people who care about you. When you live life like it matters, it does. Hope you keep on posting photos as you attend events because I've really enjoyed your trips along the way.
