You may have heard this one before. This is most of what became Tribute, but unedited. Randy's tone is different (better IMHO).

This is one of my favorites, actually, I'd say it is. Randy smoked throughout this show, and yeah, he had a flub or two on "Crazy Train", but his energy level and enthusiasm overshadowed that by miles. Still say they should have not screwed with Randy's guitar sound for this show for "Tribute" and left his so much more devastating spotlight solo in as well.

A little known fact, but there is an audio interview from before the show, on the tour bus, with Ozzy and the rest of the band getting a few words in. I haven't heard it in YEARS, but heard it over the phone from a friend who was at the show afterwards. Can't remember what Randy may have said, but Rudy says somewhere in the conversation, something about "f**k disco sh*t!". Rare item that I'd like to find again.

Don't know why for sure. I can only guess that maybe the complete overdubbing of Ozzy's vocals had something to do with it (to be in tune) and maybe to get the Montreal spotlight solo to fit in soundwise. :? Either way, totally agree, the Cleveland guitar tone was SO much better and the guitar tone Randy loved.

Cool thing about reading "Off the Rails" is that when Rudy mentions a date in the book, you can come in here and hopefully find it!

This one in particular was interesting because this concert has an entire chapter dedicated to it and is interesting to read the account beforehand and then see the performance.

Great to have this as I just added it to my collection!

Thanks!
Dave

I feel kind of stupid making this comment. When I click on the link, it takes to me a link that just says "Parent Directory" and when I click that, it just takes to back to cableguy's main home page. How do I download the file(s)?

Cableguyxx just posted a sticky at the top of this forum called "Sound Files Are Down". Here's your answer.

I'm not sure how long it will take to fix this. Somehow, every audio file on my server disappeared. Just the audio files. No answer from the server people except to re-upload. I'll start uploading this weekend, but it's going to take a long time

*EDIT* Found out it's a T.O.S. issue with storing electronic files. I'm going to have to find a better hosting solution, and then re-upload.

Thank you for the reply ironface. I was unaware that the audio files were down.

This show is available once again. It's going to be in a slightly different format though going forward. Previously, I gave everyone access to the directory to download the tracks individual. From now on, there will be one ZIP file with the show, and once unzipped, the shows will still be broken down into tracks.

This show is once again available, now as a ZIP file. If you need WinZip, you can get it here: http://www.oldversion.com/program.php?n=winzip

Does Rudy Sarzo play on this one?

If so, it seems strange that Rudy played in May of 1981 and then Bob Daisly played at the HMH in August? Is this correct?
