That was pretty interesting. I always wondered if Zakk ever got to see Randy play, so this answered my question completely. I could just imagine how bummed he must have been after Randy's passing. In a strange way it's kind of ironic, that a few years later he would be next to Ozzy himself.

Another cool thing is that a few months before joining the band, he had backstage passes to an ozzy show and got to meet the band and sharon. He was probably axcited as hell, and a little while later he was in that band. Sick :D

very strange to have that feeling. Jake must have been shocked also,he played the LA area so I am sure he ran into Randy quite a bit. Then have the opportunity to play where randy did. Very surreal.

Cool story, I heard something about Jake showing up at that BLS show before. Cool to hear that Zakk liked Jake so much. I always thought Jake was a phenomenal player who is overlooked too much, especially today. And it's shameful how little Ozzy's camp has done to give him any kind of legacy. First of all, they cut some solos out of Rock N Roll Rebel on the remaster(atleast it's not as bad as what they did with the Blizzard and Diary remasters, though) and now The Ultimate Sin is out of print and has been for years. It's a shame because Jake was truly unique and he could really play. Try playing the solo in Bark At The Moon like he did and I guarantee you'll have a new level of respect for Jake.

Matt, you're right. Jake is awesome, very talented guitarist... but people don't know him as much as he deserves. I always loved him and his style and think that Bark at the Moon and The Ultimate Sin are the best Ozzy's albums except those made with Randy.
