Will he be another soulless shredder who can`t write?
And at 19 can he have developed his own stylings yet.?. We`ll see.

It's a fake photoshop, very easily spotted, it's already been said by Dario himself that it's fake, though he seems to also have made it himself for the publicity. Stupid really.

Anyway, for now Gus G is Ozzy's guitarist.

i was just coming on here to say that it was a fake .Further research right after the post indicated that it was indeed fake. I knew I`d seen that pic of Uz before. Maybe someone did make that on Daro`s befalf

I was thinking this might be a step up from Gus G.

My management talked to someone in the Ozzy camp 2 weeks ago about the possible opening as I was hoping to get an audition. They said they are no longer looking and wouldnt say who got the gig.

Dario probably would be a better choice than Gus based on that blizzcon performance. It would be good to see.

But I do think Gus will only get better over time, he couldn't have had entirely too long to learn a set and put his own bits in for that show, we'll see.

Indeed true. And If he's not a permanent replacement for Zakk, it would explain his half assed performance at Blizzcon.

(Before anyone starts, yes I know, he played technically great, he didn't play 'bad' in anyway, but it was half assed in that he just played exactly what Zakk plays with Ozzy live, nothing of his own flavour at all).

You know if anyone of you who are bitching about Gus G sounding like Zakk were in Gus's shoes and had the chance to play with OZ you would do WHATEVER the OZ camp said..........ok Gus you got the gig !Just play it like Zakk,.................no ,no OZZY I will play it my way or get someone else to play guitar for you. Right
Brad Gillis wore Randy's clothes for goodness sake.I'm sure the Osboures are not going to take any crap from a" backup" musician. If it took a leather vest chain belt and a ton of pinch harmonics to get me the gig I guess I could sell out and hold my nose long enough to tour with OZZY

I agree with JAY on this.

For a gig with someone like Ozzy, chances are, you'd do ANYTHING to play the gig. Even if it means selling out.

For any random nobody, yes.
For a semi-well known, well respected, and well rounded player like Gus G?
No. He shouldn't have turned himself into a Zakk clone.

But I never did bitch about him I'm the one giving him kudos and a chance to build himself up in the Ozzy gig.

As for Gus's Zakk-isms at Blizzcon, sounds like it wasn't Ozzy and Sharon's idea to emulate Zakk, but more Zakk's influence on Gus. From this month's Greek edition of Metal Hammer:

His thoughts on Zakk Wylde:

Gus: "Zakk is a tremendous guitar player, just like all the guys that have played with Ozzy. In fact, Zakk is my favorite Ozzy guitar player ever and my biggest influence of them all! It's quite an honor for me to step into his shoes."

from the way Gus answerd that question im assuming that he is a permanant (at least as far as permanant goes with ozzy (couple years max)) replacement and not just a temporary replacement.

Just think about it, why Joe Holmes and Gus G. sounded pretty much like Zakk when they played with Ozzy?... I mean, it's very clear for me that Ozzy (Sharon) requested this way as mandatory requirement.
So, at the end of the day why they changed Zakk anyway?... I believe that John 5, Paul Gilbert, Steve Vai and other talented guitarists wouldn't accept that condition in order to get the gig.
