Here's some pictures of Randy and the band from County Coliseum in El Paso, TX on February 23, 1982. These were taken by members of the Japanese Quiet Riot Fan Club who were granted access not only backstage, but to the soundcheck for the gig. Much thanks to Tom/T.A./Tab for helping out with alot of these great shots. :D

Its intresting to me how he plays in the classical sitting potition when playing classical but sits very differently when playing his electric (legs crossed over the right leg)

I always sit classical style...and i cant even begin to cross my legs to sit or play like that

Nice pics. Nobody was as tight a band as those 4 guys back then anywhere.

Lots of new ones to me. Cool to see a lot of those I've seen since '84 are all actually from the same gig.

We get Randy pre-show and poofed-out Randy as well. :D

That must be the Winston pack from way back then. Looks like Marlboro red's current pack almost.

good job on that Anthony  I was thinking the same thing that this must of been around the time of the blow up. Though cool to see Ozzy and Randy still sitting together looking at photos. What's really cool I think there is a photo of Randy looking at the classic pic of himself recording the Blizzard lp. A photo we all love. Later when I get a chance I will add some photos of the show that eve.

Yeah, looks like it and in this shot Randy seems to be looking at a Quiet Riot Japanese newsletter or magazine showing what looks like the cover of "Quiet Riot I" .I can make out the QR logo and what looks like the 4 members off the album cover.

About 8 of them were. Some others that were in b/w in that book and are in color in this thread are from some Japanese mags/books/etc. Others are from various locations.

Fantastic! Thanks Iron and TAB. Never knew where those shots came from. Wonder what Randy is holding behind the Diary Album? Maybe some cheese sticks? That pic always looks to me like Rudy and Randy are subtly giving Ozz the ol' one finger salute.

I would like to add my thanks to the entire .tk team that assembled this terrific gallery.

Picture #3, with the close up the music book that Randy is looking at, seems to be a lead sheet of some form. Standard notation has notes flying up and down---the black blocks (chords or words [who knows]) are all straight in book seen in Picture #3.

Very curious about what Randy was reading---aren't you :?:

I didn't know I was on team tk :P cool, though thanks man.

I believe these are part of his modal scales he practiced. I think it looks the same tabs as Mrs Rhoads showed in the Japanese Tribute Documentary.
