Here's another little project I had been working on. It's shots from the backstage photo shoot that Neil Zlozower did with Randy on 12-31-81 at the LA Sports Arena. Always wanted a place where all the shots could be together, like we did with the John Livzey session. If anybody has any different shots not included here, or some better quality ones than these, please send em to me and we can add them in or swap them out. Thanks.
Enjoy.

Great stuff Iron. Thats probably my favourite Randy shoot, just him surrounded by his guitars. Awesome.

I always thought Randy was playing some harmonics in this photo...just by the way his left hand is positioned. Also, on the bootleg, I always look forward to when Ozzy says, "Take it away, Randy" right before Iron Man.

I'm looking for someone with a clearer copy of this full width shot (from the Nov 82 Guitar Player mag tribute issue). My scanner didn't cooperate too well on this one.

Also, I think (without pulling out the bootleg) Ozzy yelled "Take it away Randy!" right at the start of "Iron Man". :?

Those are all great shots. Was he just warming up. I always wondered if he was tuning or just goofing around before the gig.

No sweat man.

The bass is Rudy's, as this was the backstage area for the band before the gig.

Right on! I had forgotten some of these pics, real cool stuff! It´s a good idea to collect photos from one session into same bunch, it goes provong that there really were more pics than we usually sen used...
I wish we´d find more BOO and DOAM. session photos, ´cos there must be! :D

Yeah, that b/w shot from the November 82 Guitar Player was a bit problematic to scan. Since the shot is spread over 2 pages, I didn't wanna use my copy of the issue as I thought it may put too much pressure on the spine pressing it flat enough to get all the detail, so I used a copy from my scrapbooks and put it together that way. Didn't get the definition I wanted. :? If you get a less blurry copy, great! :D If not, no sweat.

Thanks for the pictures!

Something seems curious to me about Randy's posture. I don't see how comfortable that could be crossing his right leg over his left and then placing his guitar on top. It is ladylike

I play like that all the time when Im sitting especially if Im on an acoustic cuz it raises the guitar and makes it easier to play

somebody please post the "large" vesion of one of these photos (or at least offer it for sale). I know the site was hacked and it was lost, but surely someone has it on their hard drive. I would find it inconcievable that anyone would delete a pic of Randy. I did some calcuations and I think a blow-up of 4 feet long by 2 feet high would present as life size. Now who wouldn't want that on their wall?

Which photo are you talking about in particular? These pics are sized to fit the boards page specs (most of em, the tiny ones I haven't dug up bigger shots of yet). And we can't offer any of Neil Zlozower's photos for sale (that's how you get in trouble). I have a few large posters of some of these pics that were in poster mags or whatever, but they are obviously too big to be scanned.

EDIT: If you were talking about this one, I just added it, but it is different one from the tiny shot in the sequence. (See the different fingering on Randy's left hand.) Always looking for others and will put them up when they are found.

Hey Iron, I think it's the sixth picture down from the top with the LPC. The original post on 7/20/05 by CROWLEY is called "Randy's Other Pedal Board" , but it's listed as last update 7/7/7 (under General Rhoads Talk) and down the page a little is a reply by Chaserw10 and he says he has a huge pic but doesn't know how to post it. Hopefully this info will help you, help me.

Ah, Okay, that picture. If you wanna try and contact Chaserw10, have him get in touch with me. If he can scan the picture and get it to me I can get it only to about the size of the first couple in the thread, but that would be a little more detailed than whats up now.
