Hi Mike

Just listened to Believer for a bit of inspiration...I thought I was over this, but I just heard and it just makes me shake my head and smile. Half in sheer enjoyment and half in disbelief.

It is such an energetic perofrmance. I think I will have to woodshed this one (I saw you and kevin Kyle use this word...it basically means work arse off to get good right LOL?)
Matt

Matt you are right about the term woodshedding! It means to do exactly what you thought it meant, work your arse off practicing.. lol

Thanks Matt, it was an enjoyable project, recording this version of "Believer" I learned a couple of great do's and do not's for recording methods and I had a blast figuring out the eerie noises at the beginning and end of the song. The only ugly moment on it for me is how the tone radically phases at the starting transition of the solo, I couldn't get the tone of the solo section even close to the main body of the song because I did it seperately and then saved my final take forgetting that I had eq'ed the hell out of the solo section and then realized I hadn't saved just my lead tracks seperately so I did what I could do with it. Lesson learned.

MattC.

Thanks man, I really enjoyed recording DOAM also, I wanted to get as close as possible to the studio version and the backing track I had was great also. I learned a few tricks of home recording with this tune also.

MIKE!!! Just listened to the re-recording of BELIEVER and it just blew me away!! The effects you had going on in it REALLY sculpted it and made it very eerie. And that solo.....f**king ROCKED!! Nice job buddy.

Friggen Putfile seems to have lost half of my posts sometime ago so I deleted the dead links and cleaned my solo post section up a little.

Hi Mike

Long time no speak partner!

I really do love the You Looking At Me Solo. And the way that little finger just bounces off the high e string on the pedal notes :D

Tidy that room!!!!

Hey man, I listened to a bunch of your stuff. Good job. You have a really good sound on the newer stuff. I couldn't imagine learning all of those solos. It would take me months.

Thanks man. I didn't learn them overnight by any means!! LOL It takes time and dedication to wanting to learn, that's for sure. When learning someone else's music you will find there are common techniques throughout their material. The more you learn the clearer this becomes and subsequently this will allow you to grasp the next piece quicker since you will have these certain characteristics in the bag so to speak. Practice, practice, practice.

I had some time to fiddle around today and I did a full on multitracking of Crowley. All solos and rythyms doubled. Top of thread.

I had a chance to get all my Randy solo's reuploaded to my main file server so I re-did all my links on my first post. Enjoy!
