Thought I'd refresh the links to my Randy solos since they'd disappeared..and one new one for 19th March 2014. Hope you enjoy them...

- CRAZY TRAIN - (with new 7 string backing rhythm, harmony backing lines & wah lick. Main solo triple tracked. Tribute version)
- MR CROWLEY - Tribute version. Double tracked.
- DIARY OF A MADMAN - Nu-metal style reinterpretation of the old bass riff as backing track. Wah on lead.

When I'm not doing covers I'm working on my own stuff with Kill or Cure these days:

It's just so metal they had to be real ;-)

It's a lot cheaper to squirt lighter fluid over your guitar, set it alight and film for the 5 or 10 seconds it burns than hiring in special effects people.
The guitar in most of the vid is one of my Ibanez 7 strings, but the one on fire is my Axe, bought when I was 14. Worst guitar ever made. Slide up the neck and the fret edges slashed your fingers. I was dying to smash it or burn it. Turns out the lighter fluid burns off so quick that there was minimal damage, except to the plastic nut. The only other damage was brand marks in my fingertips from the hot strings (temporary). I say the damage was minimal, but please, don't set fire this to your prized possessions and then sue me for incitement!

Des - still hoping to see your show at JBs on June 5th! Hopefully catch you then.

Mr. Crowley rocked, man. Pretty much note for note with a couple of slight variations to make it your own. Well done...

To celebrate Randy's 50th, I've replaced the broken links to my Randy solos and reworkings. If you didn't hear them the first time, please stop by to check 'em out. Probably about time I did a new one!

Dan that was killer!! Loved the rhythm interpretations...VERY HEAVY. The solos were right on the money and a VERY nice tribute to Randy. The old band was some very killer stuff as well. Found myself stopping what I was doing, lighting a cig and turning the speakers up to 11!!!! I would love for you to put your edge on Revelation(Mother Earth)...what do you think?

Thanks a lot big_p! Revelation could be worth a go - I often try to play along with it to tighten up my playing. I've think I may have nailed it once, but I don't know how many times I've tried - the last fast rundown is really tricky fingering. Just got myself some new Pro-Tools recording gear so might have a go over the Christmas hols. Although the thought of programming in the drums puts me off big time lol.

If you liked my band's vid, we've got a new improved audio version of the I'm Bleeding track with my new band/new singer on http://www.myspace.com/killorcure

Hi Dan

I just requested Kill Or Cure on myspace. Great sounds and also a catchy name in the same kind of way Guns n' Roses were :D

Cheers Matt. You've just reminded me I need to spend more time playing and less time surfing ebay for rare guitars lol.

Hey Dan, I can't believe I missed hearing your recordings until just now... Great stuff man, and I really liked how you compartmentalized the phrasing for DOAM's solo, it almost souded machine like (I am saying that as a good thing..lol) it really fit over the cold-metal behind it. SWEET! I enjoyed all of your posts!
