Crazy Train (Whole Song)

This is my take at Crazy Train. I only have a laptop with a build in mic so quality is on the down side. I know I messed up a little, but not to bad. I want Honest opinions and constructive criticism ONLY

Edit : I'll also post some soon to come solos here also.

Well if you want honest opinion I would recommend working on your timing. See here is my terrible cover http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jlg8xygxwBQ that was from a long time ago and I will post a better version soon! Anyway I noticed that you were out of tune with the backing track and you seemed to be playing different chords? It sounded like you would go A E D A A instead of A E D A. Other than that good cover.

Yes I know I messed up the timing and Its a hit or miss thing for me at this stage, this is the best I've sounded though.

I'll have to look into the chord progression again.

I am not trying to be mean or anything I just wanted to tell you the truth I would recommend playing with a metronome your tone was great though!

Yes I really should, and no I didn't take it as mean. I have time, I'm only 13 lol.

Ya, I've worked really hard over the summer to afford my gear, amazingly my amp was only $400.

Hey man, first of all I've heard worse and once upon a time played worse myself. However timing was never really an issue for me, but I teach guitar so I know it can be a pain to learn.

My advice would be to get a metronome (loud enough that you can hear it over your amp) then, in addition you need to find a way to internalize the beat. Tap your foot, bang your head, whatever. Do that before you play a single note. Make the beat as famililiar as your own pulse.

The other thing I would say is practice, practice, practice!!
When I was your age I was putting in about 6-10 hours a day. And trust me, it only gets harder to find practice time as you get older.

Anyway, keep it up and keep us posted! *r*
