okay, I know that I am late on this pedal.. but I just got it today after months of thinking about buying it and I am happy to say that it rocks *r*

I have a marshall jvm 210 head and cab and have been slightly satisfied with the tone but have always felt it was to grainy. I now use this pedal in front of the clean channel and it is simply amazing. Nice smooth leads and articulate crunch !!

I strongly suggest anyone looking for a quality distortion pedal to get this one !!

It does not sound like the average distortion pedal and more like another channel on the amp when engaged. I just cannot get over this pedal ! The new vox ice 9 overdrive is also another amazing pedal that just came out a few months ago under Joe's name. Sorry for the rant but I am very very impressed with the satchurator *r* *r* *r* *r*

I heard that from some people also, but I gotta tell ya, I have my amp set on the clean crunch channel red setting ( slight gain.. early acdc.. jtm 45 type tone ) and the satchurator in front of it... it wails !! smooth leads. The stock gain stage on the amp is grainy, fizzy.. I was using a boss sd-1 overdrive and it helped alot.. it tightened up the bottom end, smoothened out the leads, but had no character.. very sterile tone from it.

I am going to post a vid in a few days.

For sure man!

Stacking distortions is a great way to experiment and find that OD tone that is only in your head. I have had great success stacking the following pedals in various orders (Muff, DOD250, Boss OD, compressor, with the wah in various positions)

Produces the creme de la creme of articulation and dynamics.

I like doing that also, but sometimes the tone tends to become too satchurated and broken up.

I hear ya on that!

One thing that fascinates me is how some pedals just don't work well with each other, same with the real world right? haha.

One thing that you have to make sure to do is leave yourself headroom, that is your clean should be set real high, with the distortion flavoring but not pushing your sound.

This is extremely confusing considering the two worlds of thought in the guitar community (new vs. vintage)(solid vs. tube).

Old amps you have to push, have natural distortion from the tubes, since the tube is articulate to the incoming signal it amplifies and "bends" to it's needs. When a distortion pedal is placed in front, those tubes compliment or embellish the incoming square and saw waves producing a similar shape but adding harmonic content that is definitely mucked with in transistor amps.

Think of the whole as the sum of it's parts, and in general try to keep every distortion within your equation about half mast as I like to call it. Enough to be seen/heard but it doesnt require a direct salute, just how I like my ladies.(ever see hear no evil, see no evil?! haha)
