Looks AMAZING Jay!!!! I have 3 questions for you.... does the vintage trem stay in tune? I've only played a floyd rose. How long did it take Mike to make it for you? Looks like a great form fitting case,is that included in the price? Thanks Jay!

Crypticnight-the guitar is just like Randy's black and white IMO the talk about it being a mystical blue tint is hype.I believe it's always been black and maybe over the years the black has changed tint and now appears blue in certain light or in camera flash. I was asked by Jackal if I wanted the "blue "tint and declined-he will gladly paint it any color you wish

Zeprastripes: Yes the vintage tremolo stays in tune just fine and doesn't rob you of sustain as a floyd does. I am not a big divebomber/Steve Vai type player and I have the bridge flat to the body so I can't go sharp(pull up)on the bar-I use my Hamers for that stuff :D
-As for how long did the guitar take to build- we began talking in Aug 06 and I got the guitar Tuesday *LOL*LOL* Seriously I was in no hurry for the guitar so Mike and I got along just fine, I enjoyed waiting and getting build progress pics every so often as a surprise  When you order a guitar from him or get on his "build list" he will contact you and you can work out the details on build time ,options and price. As for getting the build started I sent 50% up front and 50% when he was ready to ship the guitar( I offered to pay in full up front and Mike declined ) I knew after speaking to Des and KevinKyle and Mike himself -he is the most honest and trustworthy guy you will ever deal with period.
As for the case I chose a gator case because the coffin case I have for my Jackal PDV doesn't store easily because of its shape so I didn't want another
Another thing about the case, and this goes to how much love and passion Mike has for his guitars and clients- you noticed the custom formed case interior,Mike custom made that for my guitar and did something so personal and special for my Pinstripe case I still can't believe he would honor me with such a gift. I waited 27 years for the guitar and the case means alot to me too, thanks for that Brother Mike 8) I'm not going to say what was done but if Jackal wants to share I'm fine with it.
BOTTOM LINE BUY A JACKAL-Mikes guitars are built one at a time by HAND ,unless you want to spend $10000 more for a still wrong headstock,a roll of black duck tape and the letters S O N for the Replica Jackson that is
In case you can't read between the lines i like the guitar *yay*

I no longer have my Jackal V, but my experiance with Mike was great. He is very professional and will go over every detail. THe workmanship of his guitars is really high quality. I wish I still had mine. I had to sell for medical bills. I originally sold it for the marshall RR amp but the took so long and there was an issue with the amp when it came. I never saw it again. GC was suppose to have put it on a repair order. They probably just sold to some one else even though it had an issue. Good times. The guitar looks killer.

I have contacted grover jackson and he told me it is "one shot blue" so there is no hype involved

I would recommend: http://www.webs.com

I use this for my three websites... have had it for several years now, and it's great. You can upgrade to pay... one of mine is about $50 a year (for no ads). Highly recommended to anybody here!

Take a look at my links for examples of what can be done.

Good to hear from you Kevin, glad the tour went well 8) I have no doubt these guitars are bulletproof-just have to be careful not to break the tip of the long wing,it's pretty thin
My Pinstripe is #16 but apparently it is really the 17th built-one was taken apart for some weird defect at some point in time

well the soap opera continues... so now that my Stroke scrambled my brain & my personality. it looks like my wife is Divorcing me by 2014 she " wants her life back & wants to find happiness again" which I can't fault her for. but Here's the deal... If I move out & into my own place... I may be finding a way out to visit randy's grave next year. I've always wanted to go... I'd love to meet some of you folks!- funny enough it was HER idea too

I'm sorry to hear that, Jackal.

But on the upside of things, you get to hopefully visit Randy's grave now! More than I can say, at least lol
