Intense album from start to finish. 'I Still Love You' is hands down the best song on that CD

Yeah that was their best and heaviest since 'Alive II". Awesome comeback. As far as "I Still Love You", I think it's an awesome song but I'd take some of the heavier songs as best on the album, like "War Machine", "Keep Me Coming", "Rock And Roll Hell" and the title track.

What, no 'Danger'? Not my fav Paul song. I completly forgot about 'Rock and Roll Hell', great Gene tune on there. A couple of Genes best 80's material is on COTN (lets face it, he had some less than stellar songs in the 80's!). Also, you forgot to add 'Killer' on your little list...great tune

As for Alive II.....Its a shame they couldnt write more songs like those studio tracks. 'All American Man' is one badass riff, along with "Larger Than Life'.

Most of them are my mom's old CD's, :P.

All my Metallica cd's, tapes, and vinyls are my mom's from the 80's...

My grandma listens to metal as well, in fact, this was a gift from her a few years ago, she bought it brand new in 1987 back in England.

1. Jason Becker- Collection
2. Eric Clapton- Complete Clapton
3. Ozzy- Diary of a Madman
4. Paul Gilbert- Get Out of My Yard
5. Pantera- The Great Southern Trendkill

By the way, iTunes labeled The Great Southern Trendkill as pop. I'm sure it was a mistake, but a very big mistake.

Muhammed Suicmez rules! Very influenced by Chuck Schuldiner. Three words: "Fermented Offal Discharge". 8) Speaking of which, kind of funny that Paul Gilbert's old drummer played with them for over a year.

I concur about Muhammed, hes a great player. I just started listening to them. A guy I work with who listens to alot of death metal mentioned them to me and said I should check em out. Ive been pretty impressed from what I have heard so far

Necrophagist... from the Greek "nekros" (dead body) and "phagous" (to eat or eater of)... There's an appetizing thought.

1) Jon Oliva's Pain - Global Warning
2) Power's Court - Nine Kinds of Hell
3) Rush - Exit... Stage Left
4) Jason Becker - Collection
5) Pain of Salvation - Remedy Lane

Exactly.

In my opinion his voice sounds even deeper live than in both the studio albums.
I don't see how one can sing and play some of those extremely technical guitar parts, Fermented Offal Discharge comes to mind...

Can't wait for their new album!
Alex; how do you like Cannibal Corpses' new album? I have most of their albums.. do you recommend it?

It's funny. He looks totally non-metal, but then gets up there and tears everyone's face off.

He looks like the guy I work with that turned me on to them  He sent me a vid of him talking about his Ibanez guitar that he plays...my fav quote from that, "its martial metal" . You're dead on though about him though. I clicked on a vid that he sent me of the band playing, and my first though was "that guy prolly sounds like a pussy" then you hear thisdark voice. Brutal

Gary Moore - Bad For You Baby

David Gilmour - On An Island

Joe Satriani - The Extremist

Seasick Steve - Doghouse Music

Thin Lizzy - Live & Dangerous.

Anyone else heard the Gary Moore album? It's fantastic, the solo on Love You More Than You'll Ever Know rivals any of his old stuff. Making it rival pretty much anything, really some of the best playing I've heard.

I must have played this album up to 30 times the past two months. Recorded live in the studio. Sheer brilliance.
