Admittedly, I attended ProgPower X in Atlanta this past September with a single purpose in mind - to see Crimson Glory (well, that and to show my support for them and their fallen friend and former bandmate, Midnight). I was not disappointed in the least by either of CG's sets. The first set was CG by themselves. But then after a two minute break, they unleashed an incredible tribute set to Midnight, featuring 17 amazing vocalists singing Midnight's material.

In the words of Jon Drenning - "It's taking 17 singers to bring to you tonight what we used to do with only one 20 years ago."

Here's the complete set list w/singers...
C/G Set:
1) War of the Worlds
2) New World Machine
3) Astronomica
4) Edge of Forever
5) Touch the Sun
(These five songs featured Wade Black, with David Van Landing and Danaë Drenning on harmonies.)

Midnight Memorial Set:
6. Mayday: Kelly Sundown and Todd La Torre
7. Queen of the Masquerade: Kelly Sundown and Todd La Torre
8. Valhalla: Chris Salinas and Clay Barton
9. Azrael: Clay Barton and Andy B. Franck
10. Dragon Lady: Andy B. Franck and Todd La Torre
11. Where Dragons Rule: Chris Salinas and Joakim Brodén
12. Lady of Winter: Rob Rock and Lance King
13. Painted Skies: Danaë Drenning and Danilo Herbert
14. Masque of the Red Death: Urban Breed and Nils K. Rue
15. Red Sharks: Nils K. Rue and Sean Peck
16. In Dark Places: Lance King and Mark Boals
17. Lonely: Michael Eriksen and Mark Boals w/Lance King, Nils K. Rue, Rob Rock, and David Van Landing
18. Lost Reflection: Midnight (1989 live video)
19. Eternal World: Wade Black and Todd LaTorre

I'll treasure my experiences and the people I met (including all of Crimson Glory's members and guests, as well as three members of Jon Oliva's Pain) over the course of this fantastic weekend for the rest of my life... or at least until the Triton Power Cruise weekend in May when I get to meet them all again!

It was beyond words, Rick. I know I was there, but I can't wait for the DVD's (both ProgPower's and Crimson Glory's) so I can relive the experience time and again. :D
