Try the Search feature. There's a thread on that same subject here:

http://www.nobitching.com/board/viewtop ... light=sato

It kind of gets off topic and some answers were slightly off, but the real answer is the initials of the first names of Sharon,Adrian (Sharon's then-boyfriend),Thelma,Ozzy. They were all in the room together when Ozzy tried to think up a title for the song and since he was stumped he just named the song after the people in the room's names. Bob Daisley's idea was better and makes more sense lyrically. (See thread)

Let me say it one more time. According to Bob Daisley, it's:

I've got an Ozzy interview basically saying that he and Randy thought the song was s**t. One of my faves though

yeah crowley im with you its a great song to play live

classical start, driving riff , very well constructed minor scale lead break,
and just the right amount of harmonic bar dives/screams , i think its one of randy's most underated pieces of music. there is a lot going on in that song thats not ''visible'' to the ear at first glance .

love it !!!!

Randy never mentioned "SATO" in any interviews, but did say "Little Dolls" made him cringe because he only got to put a dummy/guide solo on it and never had the chance to put a real one on. Ozzy, speaking for himself, said "There was one track, "SATO", which was a rush job. That's the only tune on Diary where I jump the needle. It was a case of "you've got two days to finish it and if you ain't, it's going out as is". We did what we could to salvage it."

Back in the prehistoric days of turntables, it meant to skip to the next song by hand (and needle).

wow !!! i cant believe you jump that track. ok each to there own but that track has everthing a great song should have . that song also is a great song to actually play , man i dig the 3rd verse where randys adding harmonic fills left right and centre, man he definatly would have had the ''stance'' going in the ''barn'' on the farm that day , the guitar is just wailing man...

I didn't say I jump that track. I was explaining what "jump the needle" meant and what Ozzy said (I quoted him).
